What a Pharmacy Technician Should and Shouldn't Do

In Pakistan, pharmacies are essential for supporting and teaching the populace. However, this responsibility carries a great deal of weight. The technician is responsible for handling delicate medications and drugs as well as adhering to all administrative requirements. A pharmacy technician cannot make a mistake given the delicate nature of the work involved. Here are a few things a pharmacy technician shouldn't do.

What a Pakistani Pharmacy Technician Should Not Do is:

The in-patient pharmacy is required to verify that the medication orders are complete. Additionally, they must confirm that the order follows the on-call doctor's instructions.

A pharmacy technician needs to be proficient in technology. He needs to immediately input the prescription data into the database management system.

A Pakistani pharmacy technician's efficient work is also aided by stock-keeping training. He should ideally be able to place orders, receive them, and carefully unpack them without causing any damage.

Packaging the medications with an obvious expiration label is one of the most crucial responsibilities.

It is crucial to comprehend the technician policies manual completely.

To let people know who they are dealing with, they must have an identity card affixed to their outfit.

Don'ts for a Pharmacy Technician in Pakistan:

Without a doctor's signature, a pharmacy technician is not allowed to collect phone orders for prescriptions.

A pharmacy technician is not expected to evaluate any medical records, prescriptions, or medication orders.

Any discrepancies that the pharmacy technician finds must be reported right away.

The technician is not permitted to share his knowledge with the patient or offer advice or counsel.

Patient privacy must be respected by a pharmacy technician. He cannot discuss patient information with anyone outside of the workplace.

The technician is prohibited from debating the merits of a given medication therapy or contrasting it with others.
