Aga Khan University Hospital’s Strong Network Saved One Baby’s Life In Hyderabad

Zohra Bibi, 30, came to the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) with her two year old baby Sher Khan who was rushed in an Ambulance from Hyderabad. The infant fell from the stairs in and hurt his head. An hour later after noticing the swelling on the baby’s head increase, Zohra Bibi and her husband rushed him to a nearby hospital in Hyderabad . The baby was admitted and was given high doses of medication according to Zohra. “My baby’s condition was worsening by the minute. I couldn’t stop crying. My world was falling apart,” says Zohra Bibi, tearing up even as she was describing this. “After taking the antibiotics, my baby started vomiting and his temperature continued to go up.” It was then that they decided to shift hospitals and admitted the baby to Aga Khan Maternal and Child Centre (AKMCC) in Hyderabad which offers 24-hour Emergency Services for children.
